On the evening of Thursday, February 6, the Prince’s Palace in Monaco was the scene of a meticulously planned emergency response drill, with multiple fire engines arriving at the square around 19:40. Although the presence of emergency services might have initially alarmed spectators, the operation was a controlled exercise, aimed at testing the effectiveness of protocols designed to protect the invaluable artworks within the royal residence in case of a fire.
This latest practice session follows a series of similar drills, including a substantial one conducted in October 2020 and another in 2021. These exercises are part of ongoing efforts to ensure the preparedness of emergency response teams and the safety of Monaco's cultural assets.
His Serene Highness Prince Albert II, who was present during the drill, underscored the necessity of these exercises, noting the importance of regular training and thorough debriefing to enhance response strategies. This commitment reflects Monaco's dedication to preserving its heritage while maintaining readiness for potential emergencies.
