Dmitry Rybolovlev Considers Selling AS Monaco Stake Amid Interest

Dmitry Rybolovlev, the majority owner of AS Monaco, is reportedly exploring the sale of his stake in the club, having enlisted the advisory services of The Raine Group to consider "strategic alternatives." This development follows unsolicited interest in the club, as initially reported by Les Échos and later confirmed by Get French Football News. The Raine Group, with its prominent role in high-profile football transactions, will assist in this exploratory process, although Rybolovlev's office has stated that this does not guarantee a sale and that no further updates will be provided unless there are significant developments.

The topic of the club's ownership remains a point of interest within Monaco, especially given that the Principality itself holds a 33 percent minority stake in AS Monaco. In recent comments to Nice-Matin, Prince Albert II indicated a watchful approach, expressing uncertainty about Rybolovlev’s intentions, whether to seek new investors or to sell his stake outright. For now, he noted, Rybolovlev appears focused on the current football season.

Despite the ambiguity surrounding the future ownership of AS Monaco, the commitment of the Principality to retain its share remains steadfast. Meanwhile, Rybolovlev has been visibly present at more AS Monaco matches, an indication of his continued involvement with the club as the review of potential strategic alternatives progresses. The situation remains fluid, with the club's leadership and stakeholders closely monitoring developments.
