Didier Guillaume Assumes Role as Monaco's New Minister of State

On Monday, Didier Guillaume assumed the role of Minister of State of Monaco in a formal ceremony held at the Prince’s Palace. The event was dignified by the presence of HSH Prince Albert, HSH Princess Charlene, Crown Prince Jacques, Princess Gabriella, and notable government officials including Secretary of State Yvette Lambin-Berti and Director of the Prince’s Cabinet, Christophe Steiner. During the ceremony, Guillaume took an oath to diligently serve Monaco under the watchful eyes of the principality's highest echelons.

The appointment, decreed by Prince Albert, introduces Guillaume as the head of the government, where he is expected to steer Monaco towards significant developmental milestones. Post-ceremony, Prince Albert handed Guillaume a comprehensive roadmap outlining key objectives for his tenure. These objectives emphasize enhancing the principality's environmental initiatives through energy transition and the 'renaturalization' of urban spaces, transforming them from concrete expanses to greener, more sustainable areas.

Additionally, Guillaume’s responsibilities extend to revamping urban planning and mobility to foster sustainability. His agenda also includes fortifying Monaco's global diplomatic presence and revising economic as well as fiscal strategies to better align with the future needs of public finance and safety policies. This strategic direction aims to position Monaco as a forward-thinking leader in global and environmental challenges.
