Daredevil Wingsuit Flyers Embark on Skydive Spectacle Above Monaco in National Colours

Today, Monaco witnessed a stunning display of wingsuit flying as five skilled flyers, led by local physiotherapist Tristan Doucet, took a leap from a helicopter hovering 3,300 meters above the Principality. The event, organized by Sky Unit of the Nice Parachutist Circle, featured the flyers adorned in suits trailing red and white smoke, symbolizing Monaco's national colors. This breathtaking early morning spectacle emphasized the beauty and thrill of wingsuit flying, captivating onlookers with a visual dance over the Mediterranean.

Doucet and his team underwent rigorous preparations to ensure a flawless performance, culminating in a final briefing to fine-tune every aspect of the flight, from trajectory to equipment checks. The descent began at Monaco’s heliport, with the flyers reaching speeds between 150 and 250 km/h before deploying parachutes around 900 meters to land at the scenic Golfe Bleu beach. The entire descent, captured on camera-equipped wingsuits, lasted approximately two to three minutes, providing spectators and future viewers a glimpse into the exhilarating experience of wingsuit flying.

This event not only served as a thrilling exhibition but also as a tribute to the evolution of wingsuit flying, from its early 20th-century origins to the modern aerodynamic advancements that allow for such remarkable aerial feats. Through this synchronized flight, Doucet and his team aimed to spark public interest and appreciation for this extreme sport, highlighting its development and the intense preparation involved in each jump.
