On World Clean Up Day, a commendable number of volunteers, around a hundred, gathered in the Condamine district of Monaco to engage in a substantial cleanup operation. The event, which took place on Saturday, September 21, saw the enthusiastic participation of several Municipal Council members, including Marjorie Crovetto, Chloé Boscagli Leclercq, and Georges Gambarini. Together, they successfully collected over 18 kilograms of litter, notably cigarette butts, various packaging materials, and electronic cigarette refills.
In a similar spirit of environmental responsibility, Monaco's twin city, Ostend in Belgium, conducted a parallel initiative focusing on beach cleanup, thereby reinforcing the shared commitment to preserving natural habitats across borders.
The day also featured a symbolic twinning march involving Municipal Council members Jacques Pastor, Karyn Ardisson Salopek, and Nathalie Vaccarezza. They joined forces with Fulvio Gazzola, the Mayor of Dolceacqua, to connect the Italian municipalities of Perinaldo, Apricale, and Isolabona. This march not only symbolized unity but also contributed to the cleanup efforts, underscoring the broader regional dedication to environmental stewardship.
