As AS Monaco marks its centennial season, the club, in collaboration with Kappa, has unveiled a special collector’s jersey that echoes the design of their inaugural 1924 kit. This limited-edition jersey, deeply rooted in tradition, features a black palette with a white polo collar reminiscent of the original team’s attire, embodying the elegance and authenticity of the club’s early days. The crest, an embroidered replica from Monaco's first seasons, displays the initials "ASM" and incorporates red and white diamonds reflecting the House of Grimaldi’s coat of arms, a pattern that was later immortalized in the club's home kit by Princess Grace in 1960.
This jersey not only celebrates the club’s storied past but also honors its legends, with the years "1924-2024" inscribed at the crest’s base. The centenary logo is strategically placed on the back, just below the collar, symbolizing a century of passion and achievement. Adding a personal touch, the jersey features the names of influential players and coaches around the numbers, acknowledging their contributions to the club’s enduring legacy.
The commemorative jersey was introduced in a special video featuring HSH Prince Albert, Monaco’s most capped player Jean-Luc Ettori, and current squad members, underscoring the club's rich heritage and ongoing legacy. This historic kit will be sported by the team in their upcoming match against Montpellier, celebrating a century of football excellence in the principality.
